    Troubled Mothercare rehires Mark Newton-Jones as CEO

    MOTHERCARE has reappointed Mark Newton-Jones as chief executive officer. He was sacked by former chairman Alan Parker, who himself has since left his role. David Wood, who replaced Newton-Jones as chief executive officer in April, has become group managing director.

    Mothercare confirms 50 store closures

    MOTHERCARE has confirmed it will be closing 50 store as part of a rescue plan to secure the future of the business. The store closures will be carried out through a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) which will leave it with 78 outlets in the UK by 2020.
