SANTANDER has launched an app called ‘Kitti,’ designed to compete with money transferring services offered by Facebook, Whatsapp, GOOGLE and APPLE. The app allows one person to become responsible for the collection pot for a group, which sees them receive a prepaid contactless MasterCard, allowing them to pay using the app’s funds. Santander believes it is the first ‘digital kitty’ in the UK and is hoping for up to 100,000 users by the end of the year. The app was created in partnership with MONITISE CREATE and Kalixa Payments Group.
