Interpublic's UM wins American Express global media account
AMERICAN EXPRESS has named UM as its global media agency of record following a competitive pitch. MINDSHARE loses the business having held the account for 20 years. DIGITAS lost its digital planning and buying duties, but retained the digital creative business. UM will handle media planning and buying, strategy and analytics for Amex across 22 markets around the world.

PHD UK names Hattie Whiting as chief client officer
PHD has recruited DIGITAS' managing partner, growth Hattie Whiting to be its chief client officer. It is a newly created role. Whiting has extensive experience of digital advertising, which is currently a key area for PHD as its core clients grapple with the changing advertising landscape.
