Vivendi and Havas deal is sign of things to come in adland
HAVAS MEDIA GROUP may be taken over by media owner Vivendi. The owner of UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP is looking to buy Bollore Group's 60% stake in the Havas group, which consists of HAVAS WORLDWIDE, Havas Media, ARENA MEDIA, ALL RESPONSE MEDIA, FIELD DAY, BETC, HAVAS SE CAKE, FULLSIX and MAITLAND. The combined group would be worth almost €28bn, making it bigger than WPP. If all goes ahead as planned, the acquisition is expected to be complete by the beginning of July. Vivendi also owns Telecom Italia, Canal+, Dailymotion and GAMELOFT.

BETC LONDON has announced the promotion of Rosie Bardales from executive creative director to chief creative officer. The agency has also hired Nathanael Potter as creative director.
