    John Lewis ditches traditional Christmas ad for Elton John biopic

    JOHN LEWIS has unveiled its 2018 Christmas ad, starring Elton John, which tells the story of a young boy who receives a piano for Christmas that changes his life forever. The 140-second spot, created by ADAM&EVE/DDB is set to Elton's Your Song and highlights important moments in the star's life. The ad was first shared by John Lewis staff from 6am on 14 November, before going live on the brand's digital channels and in shops at 8am. It then debuted on ITV at 9.15pm. The campaign will be supported by experiential activity in its Oxford Street store, where scenes featured in the ad have been recreated along with props and recordings, giving customers photo opportunities. A YAMAHA piano will also feature in 14 other stores, which customers will be invited to play.

    Booking.com hands ad account to Adam & Eve/DDB

    BOOKING.COM has awarded its European creative account to ADAM&EVE/DDB following a pitch handled in-house. The online booking site has not worked with an above-the-line agency in the UK in the last few years.
