    William Hill calls media review

    WILLIAM HILL has announced a review of its media planning & buying business. The account has been held by VIZEUM since 2011 and the agency has been invited to repitch for it. The review comes ahead of changes in the gambling business in the UK, where betting industries have voluntarily agreed to to advertise during live sports on TV before 9pm, starting from the summer.

    Gambling firms agree 'whistle-to-whistle' television sport advertising ban

    BET365, LADBROKES and PADDY POWER are among several gambling brands which have voluntarily agreed to introduce a ban on television advertising during live sports. The Remote Gambling Association agreed a deal with the betting firms which also included SKYBET, BETFRED, BETFAIR, UNIBET, CORAL and WILLIAM HILL to ensure that no adverts will be broadcast for a defined period before and after a game. The deal follows political pressure about the amount of betting ads on TV, as more than 90 minutes of adverts were shown during the football World Cup. Horse Racing will be exempt from the restrictions but all other sports will be included.
