    William Hill cut from #ItsComingHome hashtag on Twitter amid concerns ads reach kids

    WILLIAM HILL has been criticized for attaching its logo to the #ItsComingHome hashtag on TWITTER, prompting the social media platform to detach the bookmakers' branding over concerns it could promote gambling to children. William Hill has sponsored the hashtag since the start of the World Cup. It has received more attention as the England team has progressed through the tournament meaning the hashtag was used more often.

    William Hill gambling ad banned by watchdog for misleading bonus promotion

    WILLIAM HILL has had a TV ad banned by the ASA for misleading punters around a bonus payout feature. The spot, which aired five months ago, promoted its '2 Clear' offer, which added a 15% bonus to winnings if a horse won by two lengths or more. The ad received a complaint that it was not made clear that the promotion only applied to horse races which had at least six runners, with a voiceover suggesting the offer applied to all live TV races. The advertising watchdog ruled that the spot cannot appear again in its current form.
