    Scottish Government takes tourism sector out of the woods with forest drive

    THE SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT has confirmed it will invest £1m to develop forest tourism across southern Scotland by 2021. The investment will be spent showcasing the region as an adventure tourism destination and promoting sustainable tourism. The Rural Tourism Infrastructure Fund will also receive £3m through 2020-21 to boost the visitor experience in remote destinations.

    VisitScotland launches app for Chinese visitors

    VISITSCOTLAND has launched a new app targeting millions of Chinese social media users. Launching on WeChat, the mini-app is housed under VisitScotland's account on the Chinese social media platform which has on billion monthly active users. The mini-app divides Scotland into four regions and allows users to browse an initial 200 Scottish businesses which have tailored their products to engage with the Chinese visitor market.
