    COVID-19: Virgin Atlantic seeks urgent rescue deal

    VIRGIN ATLANTIC is attempting to secure an urgent rescue deal worth up to £900m as it fights to survive after the slump in international travel during the coronavirus pandemic. The airline is in talks with hedge funds about borrowing about £250m and is lining up more than £200m from shareholders including Sir Richard Branson. Virgin believes it could take three years for flight numbers to return to 2019 levels and hopes to finalise a deal by the start of July.

    COVID-19: Virgin Atlantic to restart passenger flights in July

    VIRGIN ATLANTIC has revealed it will restart some passenger services from 20 and 21 July, flying to Hong Kong, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando and Shanghai. It will increase flying in H2 and look to recover in 2021 in line with customer demand.
