    Beyoncé set designer Es Devlin creates 'singing tree' for V&A

    THE V&A MUSEUM is installing a 'singing tree' with digital word projections that create a poem. The tree was created by Es Devlin in collaboration with creative agency Sunshine and is made up of floating words submitted by visitors to the museum. The tree is part of a month-long celebration of Christmas featuring choirs, candlelit concerts, pop up performances, film screenings and decoration making workshops.

    V&A museum plans to revive design skills

    THE V&A is hoping to encourage young people to get into design by launching a new secondary schools project. Kicking off in the autumn, DesignLab Nation will help students to learn about craft skills, particularly in cities with a heritage of design and manufacturing. The V&A will lend some of its artefacts to other museums including those in Blackburn and Coventry. The project will coincide with the launch of a new design and technology GCSE.
