    Vans boycotts Facebook

    VANS has become the latest advertiser to boycott FACEBOOK over concerns it is not doing enough to censor hate speech across its platforms. The shoe brand has pulled its ad investment from Facebook and INSTAGRAM for the month of July as part of the #StopHateforProfit campaign. Vans will divert its advertising investment to support black communities through empowerment and education programmes, and will 'expand its support of racial equality and access initiatives'.

    The North Face and Patagonia join Facebook ad boycott

    THE NORTH FACE has joined the FACEBOOK advertising boycott. It has pulled all US paid advertising from Facebook and INSTAGRAM until the social media network reviews its policies around hate speech. The brand will continue to post organically. Civil rights groups are encouraging brands to pull their advertising from Facebook in July. Patagonia, and 360I clients BEN & JERRY’S, OREO and UNITED AIRLINES have followed suit.
