    ASA dismisses Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV TV advert complaints

    THE ADVERTISING STANDARDS AUTHORITY has ruled in favour of MITSUBISHI following complaints about an advert for its Outlander model. Two complainants argued that the car company had overstated the model's reliance on electric power when it is mostly powered by petrol. The spot in question included a voiceover stating the car is 'electric and petrol power combined', which the ASA believed made it clear to consumers that the model is a hybrid in spite of the ad repeatedly stating 'it's electric'.

    Mitsubishi Motors UK Imagines a Sanctuary for Overworked Humans

    MITSUBISHI MOTORS launched a mockumentary-style campaign to promote its ASX model. The 90-second ad by GOLLEY SLATER takes place in an animal sanctuary filled with overworked humans such as accountants, chefs and supermarket cashiers. Parodying videos of animals being released in the wild, the ad focuses on one accountant 'Colin' as the Mitsubishi ASX reunites him with his family. The campaign will be supported by 60-second, 30-second and 10-second cut downs.
