    The Body Shop unveils artwork to highlight plastic action

    THE BODY SHOP created an installation in London's Borough Market made from 1,500 recycled plastic items to raise awareness of waste-pickers in India. The sculpture of a female waste-picker was made from plastic items hand-collected by pickers in Bengaluru, and was showcased in the market from 10-11 May. The cosmetics business is aiming to help pay them a fairer wage by committing to purchase more than 900 tonnes of Community Trade recycled plastic over the next three years, in a partnership with Plastics for Change. It is also rewarding customers that deposit five empty body shop bottles in its in-store recycling bins.
