    INTERSPORT, the sport's retailer, has doubled its advertising spend to £1 million and has hired EDGE GMC to handle its national account. The agency will take over from incumbent SASS PANAYI and will set about developing a press advertising campaign, plus point of sale, design and merchandising material.

    INTERSPORT is attempting to position itself as a sports-led brand rather than a fashion-led brand with the roll-out this autumn of new retail formats across its 225 UK stores. The group is also trialling a new Intersport Women concept in Holland before a possible roll-out across the UK.
