    Walkers to launch crisp bag recycling initiative in wake of post furore

    WALKERS is kicking off the UK's first recycling scheme for plastic crisp packets this December. The campaign will ask consumers to drop off their packets at public access collection points or post them for free to TerraCycle. Crisp bags will then be turned into small plastic pellets that can be used to make items such as benches, plant pots or fence posts. It comes as ROYAL MAIL called on consumers to stop posting crisp packets to Walkers after a call to action by campaigners 38 Degrees. The anti-plastic protesters had written Walkers' freepost address on the crisp packet itself, causing trouble for the mail giants machines.
