    Retailers drop Boohoo over workers scandal

    ASOS, AMAZON, NEXT, VERY and ZALANDO have dropped BOOHOO from their listings following allegations the fashion brand staff are working under poor conditions at its Leicester warehouse. A SUNDAY TIMES report found that workers at the factory in the coronavirus locked down city, were not operating with additional health measures and being paid just £3.50 an hour. Boohoo has launched an investigation into its supply chain and has said it will cut ties with any party breaching its code of conduct.

    COVID-19: John Lewis plans ‘phased’ re-opening

    JOHN LEWIS has announced it will reopen its stores from 15 June in line with the government's lifting of lockdown restrictions. The retailer is testing changes to cleaning, visit numbers, reduced entrances and distancing signage with a phased reopening. Beauty services will be limited, while catering and fitting rooms will be closed. Returned items will be handled separately from other stock. 

    NEXT is also planning a phased reopening, started with large out-of-town stores.
