    Mothercare to close 60 outlets

    MOTHERCARE has changed its recently announced plans to close 50 stores by 2019. The retailer has confirmed it will instead be closing 60 stores, with 900 jobs now at risk instead of the 800 previously cited. It also plans to raise £32.5m from existing shareholders by issuing new shares.

    Troubled Mothercare rehires Mark Newton-Jones as CEO

    MOTHERCARE has reappointed Mark Newton-Jones as chief executive officer. He was sacked by former chairman Alan Parker, who himself has since left his role. David Wood, who replaced Newton-Jones as chief executive officer in April, has become group managing director.
