    Argos appoints Gary Kibble as marketing director

    ARGOS has appointed MOTHERCARE'S  global brand and marketing director, Gary Kibble, to the role of marketing director. Kibble will take up his new role in the next few months and report to chief digital marketing officer, Bertrand Bodson.

    Inside Mothercare's marketing strategy as its turnaround plan begins to pay off

    MOTHERCARE has seen its turnaround efforts pay off as it reports a pre-tax profit of £9.7m. The retailer has invested heavily into overhauling store estate and instituting new digital initiatives to the shopping experience. The retailer has dramatically increased its customer database by introducing e-receipts. The drive has also helped Mothercare create a more personalised relationship with customers as some opt-in to give information on the stage of their pregnancy. The new data has resulted in the retailer creating 200 triggered email to help parents learn about the products needed at every stage. A new app has also been designed and has attracted 900,000 downloads.
