    Microsoft's Minecraft places interactive statues in three cities

    MICROSOFT has placed life-sized statues of characters from its Minecraft computer game in New York, London and Sydney. Fans can meet Muddy Pig, the Moobloom and the Jolly Llama. The activation has been live from 16 November and will continue till 1 December. Visitors will also be able to interact with the characters by scanning a QR code that unlocks exclusive games and the llama character before its December release. Brand ambassadors will be on hand to advise.

    Microsoft pips Amazon for $10bn AI 'Jedi' contract

    MICROSOFT has been appointed by The Pentagon to provide its cloud-computing solutions. AMAZON had also been in the running for the business. The 10-year contract for the Joint Enterprise Defence Infrastructure (Jedi) aims to make the US defence department more technologically agile, and will include AI-based analysis and hosting classified military secrets.
