    Wessanen selects new UK chief executive

    WESSANEN has appointed Emma Vass as its new UK chief executive. She joins from MCCORMICK where she was UK general manager of herbs and spices. The appointment is part of Wessanen's new focus on sustainability and nature, intended to strengthen its portfolio, and will see Vass working on driving growth and increasing market share and awareness for its four UK brands. Gill Green, UK marketing director, has been acting chief executive since early 2017 and will continue to work closely alongside Vass now the position has been filled.

    Spice brand Schwartz creates AI powered chatbot on Facebook

    SCHWARTZ has teamed up with Spark Foundry and The Apprentice Finalist Nick Holzherr to create a chatbot on FACEBOOK that will advise people on personalised cooking recipes based on what’s available in their fridge. The chatbot will use artificial intelligence from Whisk’s Food Genome technology to provide tailored recipe ideas and inspirations.
