    Carmel McQuaid to step up into M&S sustainability role

    M&S has announced that Carmel McQuaid will replace Mike Barry as sustainable business director when he steps down on 30 June. McQuaid has worked for the business for 11 years, previously holding the head of sustainable business role. She will now lead the Plan A agenda which aims to make M&S the most sustainable retailer in the world.

    M&S revives 'food porn' ads with a modern twist

    M&S has rolled out a new 60-second spot that brings back its indulgent 'food porn' advertising with a humorous twist. The ad, created by GREY, hopes to get mouths watering for its luxury food offering following poor Christmas sales. It sees every day people getting distracted in the moment of describing and imagining various M&S foods, from salmon and cauliflower cheese to pizza and trifle, and ends with the famous strapline 'This is not just food... this is M&S food'. The campaign debuted on TV during ITV's This Morning, and will be supported by social, print, in-store and online activity. It comes ahead of M&S Food's sponsorship of Britain's Got Talent which, in a similar vein, will aim to position it as a brand to be enjoyed regularly by families instead of just as a treat.
