    Rankin shoots portraits of those braving a head shave with Macmillan Cancer Support

    MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT has unveiled a series of black and white portraits, captured by photographer Rankin, as part of its ‘Brave the Shave’ fundraising campaign. The portraits feature the parents, partners and relatives of people affected by cancer, who shaved their hair in support of the charity’s campaign. Jenny Deverell and her five-year-old daughter, Seren, who was diagnosed with Wilms’ tumour and Keith Wood, whose wife Emma died after battling cancer, both feature in the campaign. The activity also includes a film that features shots of people shaving their hair.

    Macmillan revamps marketing strategy ahead of brand relaunch

    MACMILLAN is preempting a brand relaunch by overhauling its marketing. The charity is looking to re-position itself to show that it can help cancer patients and their families through nursing, financial and psychological support. A series of TV ads by VCCP show people living as normally as possible with cancer. The 60-second 'Dad' ad sees a father reading his child a bedtime story before cutting to his struggle with cancer treatment. The aim is to communicate that even while dealing with cancer, people are still trying to live normally. Radio, outdoor and social will support the TV work. The brand re-launch is expected to take place in 2018.
