    AB InBev reveals plans for solar-brewed Budweiser

    AB INBEV has partnered with energy firm LIGHTSOURCE BP to brew Budweiser beer using 100% renewable electricity. Lightsource BP will fund, develop and operate solar installations that will generate enough electricity for AB InBev's breweries and will produce more than 17 million bottles and cans of Budweiser each week. The new solar capacity is expected to be added and connected by Lightsource BP at the end of 2020 and all Budweiser products will feature a new symbol to encourage consumers to choose a beer brewed with 100% renewable energy.

    LIGHTSOURCE has chosen GEOMETRY GLOBAL to help establish brand identity, brand idea and communications platforms as it transitions into a consumer brand. The solar energy provider had previously focused on the commercial sector but wants to tap into people’s changing energy consumption habits. The agency won the account after a four-way pitch that included VCCP and will start work immediately.
