    Clipper claims world first with non-GM plastic-free teabag

    CLIPPER TEAS has announced it will roll out the world's first plastic-free, unbleached, non-GM, heat-sealed teabag. The brand will use existing machinery at its Dorset factory to produce the new pillow-style, eco-friendly teabags. Retailers will have to sell through existing stock before the new products are rolled out to stores in order to avoid waste. From January, new packs will be marked to highlight their new eco-friendly credentials.

    Wessanen selects new UK chief executive

    WESSANEN has appointed Emma Vass as its new UK chief executive. She joins from MCCORMICK where she was UK general manager of herbs and spices. The appointment is part of Wessanen's new focus on sustainability and nature, intended to strengthen its portfolio, and will see Vass working on driving growth and increasing market share and awareness for its four UK brands. Gill Green, UK marketing director, has been acting chief executive since early 2017 and will continue to work closely alongside Vass now the position has been filled.
