John Lewis reveals Christmas ad with a friendly monster under the bed

JOHN LEWIS has finally unveiled its Christmas ad which documents the relationship between a little boy and the monster living under his bed. Having teased viewers already with a 4-second clip of peaking eyes on TWITTER and changing the 'o' and 'e' of its logo at its Cardiff store to a pair of eyes, the much-anticipated ad was revealed in full, making its debut during CHANNEL FOUR's Gogglebox on 10 November whilst simultaneously airing on all SKY's own channels. The spot created by ADAM&EVE/DDB is soundtracked by a cover of The Beatles' 'Golden Slumbers' by Elbow and sees the young boy kept awake by 'Moz' the monster under his bed who he then befriends and stays up all night to play with. The monster then gifts the boy a nightlight for Christmas so he can get a good night's kip. The TV ad will be supported by Moz AR FACEBOOK masks; in-store monster-making selfie stations; Giphy Moz GIFS; and a downloadable version of the story read by actress Sally Phillips available via GOOGLE HOME, the John Lewis website and Sky boxes. MANNING GOTTLIEB handled media for the campaign.
