    Nvidia to acquire Israeli chipmaker Mellanox for $6.9bn

    NVIDIA has agreed a deal to acquire Mellanox Technologies for $6.9bn (£5.27bn). The all-cash deal would help Nvidia shift its focus away from the gaming industry. Nvidia beat INTEL in a competitive race to acquire Mellanox and will pay $125 a share for the company. The transaction is expected to close before the end of 2019.

    Intel and football clubs partner for immersive video

    INTEL has partnered with ARSENAL, LIVERPOOL and MANCHESTER CITY to showcase its new Intel True View technology in the football club's stadiums. 38 5K Ultra HD cameras will be installed in the grounds later this season and fans will be able to watch the action from almost any perspective, whether they're watching the live broadcast and highlights or reliving the action post-match on in-house channels. Features include multi-angle views of a play, 360 degree replays and highlight reels from different angles, a laser wall to give viewers a clear picture as to where players are positioned, and 'Be The Player', where fans can see the pitch from the eyes of a footballer, allowing presenters and pundits new insights into tactics and decision-making.
