    M&S hires Halfords chief to run struggling clothing arm

    HALFORDS has announced its chief executive officer, Jill McDonald, will be leaving the business in October to join MARKS & SPENCER. McDonald will report to Steve Rowe, the group chief executive, and will have responsibility over the retailer's non-food business.

    Halfords picks Karmarama to expand brand positioning

    HALFORDS has appointed KARMARAMA as its lead creative agency following a competitive pitch involving FCB INFERNO, IRIS and J. WALTER THOMPSON. Incumbent agency MOTHER did not repitch. The retailer is seeking to produce a creative platform that uses customer data to develop its brand positioning. Karmarama‚Äôs initial challenge is to produce creative that will increase penetration and market share for the retailer and highlight the retailers range of products and services.
