    AMV BBDO: Exxon Mobil 'The Dot'

    EXXON MOBIL has launched a new film ‘The Dot’ with the help of ABBOTT MEAD VICKERS BBDO and design and animation studio, Young. The spot, filmed over a period of two months, sees the journey of a single dot’s place in a variety of different worlds. It uses several creative techniques including stop motion, CGI, claymation and paper craft, combining them to seamlessly transition from one to the next. The ad compares Exxon Mobil’s Industrial Lubricants to the dot - suggesting that it is often a tiny detail in an operation which makes a huge difference - and claiming that they could help enhance productivity.

    EXXON MOBIL has posted a 57% decrease in net income compared to the year before; it’s lowest quarterly profit in over three years. The US oil giant earned $6.9bn (£4.6bn) in the second quarter, compared to $15.9bn (£10.4bn) last year.
