    Mayor of London, DCM and Wavemaker find antidote to youth violence in film initiative

    THE MAYOR OF LONDON, WAVEMAKER and DIGITAL CINEMA MEDIA have teamed up on a filmmaking initiative. The work aims to highlight stories of Londoners that are not often portrayed in cinema, despite London featuring heavily as a location. Six trailers of films created by young Londoners will air in cinemas across London depicting what it's really like growing up in the capital, encountering issues such as knife crime, racial stereotyping and drug dealing. The films were produced at free film courses set up by the partnership and were premiered during a screening of Blue Story.

    KFC turns to Hollywood for cinema campaign

    KFC has launched a new campaign that includes five 90-second films of specially curated content based around highly anticipated films launching in 2019. The cinema campaign draws on its recent ad 'Chicken Town', which sees various chicken shops imitating KFC. The spots run the Chicken Town ad for the first 60 seconds, followed by creative that mimics the upcoming film. It then reveals that the movie hasn't started and its still an ad for KFC; once again showing how you cannot compete with an original. The campaign, created by BLUE 449 in partnership with DIGITAL CINEMA MEDIA, SPP Media and RECIPE, will break in the second half of the year.
