    Campaign plays on emotional connection for care work recruitment drive

    DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE has launched a major new campaign to address the shortage of staff in adult care. The ads are intended to help fill the 110,000 vacancies by focusing on how care work is emotionally fulfilling and makes a positive difference to the lives of others. It does not address wages for care workers, which is currently between £7.50 and £9.04 per hour. It includes real-life case studies. The campaign will run until mid-April across communications, paid social, radio and outdoor channels plus events.

    NHS campaign nudges public to pharmacists rather than GPs for minor ailments

    THE NHS has rolled out a new campaign aiming to drive down the number of GP appointments that could potentially be treated elsewhere. The behaviour-change drive will encourage people with minor ailments to seek advice from their pharmacist in the first instance. Created by FREUDS, the campaign will highlight common health concerns that can be treated by pharmacists such as coughs, colds, aches and pains, and run across TV, radio, social media and PR until the end of March. It will run under the strapline '#HelpUsHelpYou' and feature celebrity GPs and community pharmacists.
