    Government comms chief departs for senior policy role

    DEPARTMENT FOR BUSINESS, ENERGY & INDUSTRIAL STRATEGY has confirmed Sam Lister has left his role as director of communications to start a new role as director of industrial strategy, a cross-government programme focused on the challenge of increasing UK productivity, investing in skills and infrastructure and helping businesses create jobs. Lister will still be based at BEIS where he will coordinate the programme across government.

    Department for Business leads on Government's flagship minimum wage campaign

    DEPARTMENT FOR BUSINESS, ENERGY & INDUSTRIAL STRATEGY has rolled out a new campaign targeted at minimum wage workers to ensure they know what they are entitled to, following the increases in the national and minimum wage on 1 April. Posters, short films, and radio and online advertising featuring the 'A step up in pay' slogan will run until the end of October. The campaign comes just after HMRC announced that £15.6m was found to be owed in pay to more than 200,000 workers in 2017-18, with apprentices particularly likely to be underpaid.
