    Cancer Research UK stands by anti-obesity campaign after backlash

    CANCER RESEARCH UK has defended its anti-obesity campaign, which launched on Monday, following a backlash on social media. It maintained that the campaign is intended to raise awareness of obesity as the second biggest preventable cause of cancer after smoking, and rejected accusations of 'fat shaming'. A pilot campaign in the West Midlands increased awareness of the link by 22 percentage points according to the charity.
