    BP chooses WPP

    BP has appointed WPP as its global marketing communications agency, concluding a review which was initiated last year. The agency has created a specialist team to handle the account which will be responsible for the BP Corporate, BP Fuels and CASTROL brands worldwide.

    WPP forms Team Energy to handle BP's global media, advertising and communications account

    BP has retained WPP as its global agency across media, advertising and PR. WPP will form the specially-created Team Energy to oversee the accounts, drawing staff from agencies including VML, OGILVY, MINDSHARE, GREY, ESSENCE, SocialLabs and Landor, and offering the oil and gas giant a flexible media model entitled EnergyMedia utilising talent handpicked from the WPP network including Mindshare, Essence, NEO and POSSIBLE. Team Energy will be headed up by Becky McKinlay, team lead for BP, and be based in London, while additional hubs will support the account worldwide.
