The Flexity 2 model tram, which has been designed and built by  BOMBARDIER TRANSPORTATION, was revealed by Peter Callow, leader of Blackpool Council, at an exhibition at the town's Solaris Centre. The trams include 100% low floor design for easy access, maximised aisle width throughout, and an improved heating and ventilation system. There will also be a new tram depot at Blackpool's Starr Gate built to house the trams, as part of a £20m project to improve the town's transport system.
