    RBS scraps CMO role after retirement of David Wheldon

    THE ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND GROUP will scrap its chief marketing officer role when David Wheldon retires at the end of March. The company is searching for a new director of marketing and has also appointed Nigel Prideaux as group director of communications & corporate affairs. Prideaux currently works at AVIVA and joins later this year, reporting to chief executive Alison Rose.

    New sports PR agency wins The FA and Aviva business

    THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION and AVIVA have hired new sports PR agency MatchFit to handle their PR. The agency created and executed a summer press campaign to launch The FA SuperKicks, an app designed to increase football participation and learning for children and parents. MatchFit also created and activated several campaigns for Aviva focused on its partnership with Norwich City FC, delivered ongoing PR support for wellness brand DNAfit and provided white-label sports PR consultancy to several industry trade partners.
