    ARMANI has announced operating profit rose 23% in 2011 as the fashion retailer extended its retail network and looked to develop its presence in China. Operating profit totalled €281.8m (£225.1m) last year, and revenue rose 14% to €1.8bn (£1.4bn). Armani added that revenue growth in the first quarter of this year was in "double digits".

    ARMANI has appointed ZENITH to its £3m UK media planning and buying business. The media agency picked up the account without a pitch after Armani changed its model of handling media in-house.
