    UM appoints Simon Taylor as Managing Partner for American Express

    UM has appointed Simon Taylor to the position of managing partner for AMERICAN EXPRESS. He joins from HAVAS MEDIA and will report to UK CEO Rachel Forde. Taylor will be responsible for driving all of Amex's media delivery in the UK, as well as overseeing programmatic activity across EMEA and with close integration at a global level.

    Interpublic's UM wins American Express global media account

    AMERICAN EXPRESS has named UM as its global media agency of record following a competitive pitch. MINDSHARE loses the business having held the account for 20 years. DIGITAS lost its digital planning and buying duties, but retained the digital creative business. UM will handle media planning and buying, strategy and analytics for Amex across 22 markets around the world.
